How To Burn Your Candle

Ever wondered why your candle isn’t burning evenly or why you can’t smell the fragrance anymore? To make the most of your candle you need to ensure you’re burning it correctly. Doing so will extend their lifetime and provide you with a better fragrance. We’ve compiled our top tips on how to burn our candles.
.
.
1. Trim the wick
.
Keeping the wick trimmed prevents sooting and ensures a steady and even burn. Candles have a memory so getting an even burn is the best way to ensure your candle lasts longer. We recommend keeping the wick trimmed to 4mm before re-lighting your candle.
. . .
2. Ensure the wick is upright
.
It may seem pretty obvious but keep your wick upright. Leaning wicks could result in discoloured wax and an uneven burn.
.
3. Burn for two to four hours at a time
.
Burn your candle for a minimum of two hours and a maximum of four hours at a time. This differs depending on the size of your candle but it’s the recommended time for burning ours. Burning your candle for this time allows for an even wax melt across the surface of the candle. Perfect for creating a good candle memory that was mentioned in our first tip. This will make the following burns as good as the first and make your candle last longer.
.
4. Ensure your candle is placed on a flat heatproof surface
.
To help your candle burn evenly you need to make sure the surface is flat so don’t put it on the slightly wonky shelf… we’ve all got one haven’t we!? Also avoid any secondary heat sources such as radiators and stoves.
.
5. More of a safety point but just as important!
.
Always read the label on the bottom of your candle. They include everything you need to know- burn times, distance it should be from another candle along with what’s in your candle. Not all are lovingly made with essential oils and natural wax like ours.
.
6. Sit back and relax!
.
Our last top tip is to sit back, relax and enjoy your candle now you know how to expertly burn it. Once you’ve enjoyed your candle to the fullest don’t forget to wash and reuse the illustrated candle pot.
