Sustainability- Our materials and processes

Guaranteeing our products are sustainably made sits at heart of Mister Berwyn. We’re not ones for following fashion or trends. This creates waste and we believe in creating timeless products, made to treasure.

Materials and Sourcing

We take pride in working with carefully selected manufacturers who share our values on sustainability. All our products are made within the UK and Sweden. We use natural fabrics and FSC certified wood from sustainable forests. Our ceramics are made in Stoke-on-Trent from locally sourced materials.

All our products are handmade in small batches. Our small-scale production means we only make what we sell, making our process sustainable.

Sustaining the many traditional techniques used to make our products is also important to us. We work with a network of skilled craftspeople who help bring our products to life. Utilizing these traditional techniques means they are taught, learned and shared into the future.

In the studio

Plastic bubble wrap is our biggest issue but we are trailing paper bubble wrap amongst other eco packaging products so we can package our fragile pieces safely without plastic. We have switched from plastic packaging tapes to paper tape and use environmentally friendly cornstarch bags to protect our textiles. By carefully choosing these alternatives we are close to removing plastic entirely from our studio and supply chain.

We reuse and recycle as much as possible day-to-day in the studio and reuse packaging materials sent to use by suppliers when posting items to our stockists.

If you have any suggestions on how we can make our business or products more sustainable please get in touch, we’d love to hear from you.
